Throughout the final year of my degree I have attempted to explore uses for locally sourced materials and develop a process, which allows the sourcing of the material and manufacture of the outcome to all be completed, in one place. Allowing the sourcing and manufacture to take place together minimising transport and cost, enhancing the benefits of using an organic locally sourced material. The aim is to create a locally sourced organic eco-product identifying potential uses for local organic material.
From a series of material experiments I began to focus my experimentation and study the material more in-depth. I became interested in the ways I was able to manipulate locally sourced soil using different methods and mixtures to change the properties of the material, varying the potential uses for the material.
